Koodo El Tabador
In terms of brand awareness, 89% of the target recalled the name Koodo after the first year of this campaign. At the end of 2010, Koodo became the youngest brand ever to be named Brand of the Year by Strategy Magazine.
This video gives a quick description of the campaign, followed by three examples of the commercials.
Koodo: The Man Behind the Mask
We also created an origin story for El Tabador featuring Hall of Fame Wrestler Bret the Hitman Hart.
Koodo Get in the Ring:
There was also an interactive YouTube game where users were encouraged join El Tabador in the ring to give big bills a beat down.
EL Tabador Action Figures
Over the holidays we created El Tabador action figures, raising over $75,000 for the Food Bank of Canada.
Koodo Sugar Streak
An extension of Koodo’s Gingerbread campaign, Sugar Streak made use of YouTube’s annotation buttons by taking users on a 13 video live action chase through the streets of the city. In the launch week alone, Sugar Streak hit #1 as the most watched YouTube video in Canada, with an average time spent playing the game of over 5 minutes. It also went on to win Canada’s first ever Google Creative Canvas award.
Koodo Mobile Mobile Charging Station
This was a small stunt we held at various events around Toronto during the summer. We hired actors to wear Koodo Mobile Charging Station costumes and follow people around, charging their phones so they could stay out and enjoy the day.
